May: "Artist of the Month" Perry County Council of the ArtsDon Uvick exhibiting his photographs in the PCCA Gallery, One S. Second St, Newport. Join us for an opening reception on Friday, May 9 from 6-8 pm. Meet the artist and view his New York City themed imagery. Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. Regular Gallery hours: Mon - Fri 9 to 4 and Sat 9 to 1.

May and June: "Ikebana" Radius, HACC Gallery & Museum Shop – Ikebana is Japanese flowering arranging. The vessel used for the arrangement is just as important as the flowers. All work in this showcase is available for purchase. 300 North Street (ground floor of The State Museum of Pennsylvania), Harrisburg PA.

May: Radius, HACC Gallery & Museum Shop Featured Craftsman, Mary Kelly – Mary is a ceramicist and weaver from Halifax, Pa. Her work, while functional, is sometimes whimsical and always original. Radius features her bird nesting bottles, wine chillers, sponge holders, and leaf imprints. 300 North Street (ground floor of The State Museum of Pennsylvania), Harrisburg PA.

May 1 thru May 17: Mechanicsburg Art Center School & GalleriesMembers’ Show – Artcraft Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA – FREE – 717-697-2072

Friday, May 2: Perry County Council of the ArtsYouth Coffeehouse from 6 to 8 pm at Espresso Yourself Café, 8 S. Second Street, Newport. Free and open to the public. Call 717-567-7023 for details or to sign up to perform.

Saturday, May 3: The Garden Gallery (10 North Hanover Street, 717-249-1721), along with Nancy Stamm’s Galleria, Fly Away Home and Downtown Antiques present "First Saturdays–Art in Carlisle!" – A continuing series in the heart of historic downtown Carlisle, featuring original paintings, drawings, ceramics, jewelry, and hand-made cards. All shops' hours on First Saturdays are 10 am – 5 pm, are in easy walking distance and are also surrounded with many wonderful, locally owned, restaurants and coffee shops.

Saturday, May 17: Perry County Council of the ArtsPhotoshop Workshop from 2 to 4 pm at the Newport Public Library, 316 N. 4th Street, Newport. Bring a 3-ring binder, tablet and pencil. Free and open to the public. 717-567-7023.
